Bronx, NY, November 2, 2026: The Leslin Healthcare Leadership Foundation invites its students, alumni, and colleagues to The One-Breath Poem: A BLR Haiku Workshop, hosted by the Bellevue Literary Review (BLR) on Thursday, December 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. ET. The 90-minute session will be held live online. It is open to all, and no writing experience is required. Registration is $45, and space is limited.
Participants will learn how haiku moves beyond line and syllable counts, explore concision as a creative and mindful practice, and take part in collaborative, generative exercises on writing about health, illness, and healing.
The workshop will be led by Stacy R. Nigliazzo, a nurse and [member of the BLR Advisory Board]. Her work has appeared in BLR issues 20, 22, and 24. She is a founding member of the Humanities Expression & Arts Lab (HEAL) at Baylor College of Medicine and, with Kat Lehmann, won first place in the Haiku Society of America’s 2026 Rengay awards.
“This workshop reflects what we value at Leslin,” said Linda C. Lombardi, President and Co-Founder of the Leslin Healthcare Leadership Foundation. “Healthcare leaders who make time to notice and reflect are better prepared to lead with empathy.”
