Marcia Peters, JD

Marcia Peters is an experienced senior executive at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue (H+H/Bellevue) with more than fifteen years of health care executive experience, with extensive knowledge in quality, operations, regulatory, and risk management. She graduated with honors from Medgar Evers College-CUNY) and earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Brooklyn Law School.

As the Chief Operating Officer, Marcia ensures that NYC H+H/Bellevue delivers efficient services while satisfying patients’ needs, ensuring alignment with the system’s strategic pillars and the national healthcare agenda, with a goal of providing quality and safe care to all patients. Marcia also serves as NYC Health + Hospitals’ System Chief Accreditation Officer providing regulatory, accreditation, and compliance guidance to the system’s leadership.

Prior to her current roles, Marcia has most recently served (August 2013 through January 2021) with distinction, as Bellevue’s Chief Quality Officer providing strategic and operational direction for the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance and performance, regulatory engagement, risk management and safety programs at Bellevue. Marcia has a demonstrated record of success in accreditation including survey preparation and management, immediate jeopardy, and corrective actions management in compliance with the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC), and other regulatory agencies.

In her downtime, Marcia works with philanthropic organizations to promote equitable education and healthcare opportunities in the Caribbean communities and was recognized for excellence in healthcare leadership in the United States Congressional Record (2015)
