Jian Yang

Jian Yang, MD, is a physician, healthcare educator, and academic administrator with experience in family medicine, genitourinary medicine, integrative health education, and institutional leadership. He currently serves as Dean of New York College of Health Professions, providing academic and administrative leadership for the School of Massage Therapy and the Graduate School of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, with a focus on curriculum quality, faculty coordination, student support, clinical education, regulatory compliance, and institutional development.

Dr. Yang is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and completed postgraduate fellowship training in Genitourinary Medicine at The Smith Institute for Urology, Northwell Health. He will also soon begin practicing as a Genitourinary Medicine Specialist with Northwell Health. His clinical background includes outpatient and inpatient care, preventive medicine, chronic disease management, urologic evaluation and procedures, and the education of residents and medical students.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Yang has held multiple academic and administrative roles at New York College of Health Professions, including Dean of the School of Massage Therapy, Assistant Dean, Administrative Dean, Director of Professional Clinic, and teaching faculty for medical science courses. His leadership reflects a strong commitment to healthcare education, student development, clinical training, academic standards, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Dr. Yang has contributed to scholarly presentations and publications in family medicine, urology, and medical education, including work related to genitourinary medicine training for family physicians, prostate cancer screening, microhematuria evaluation, and kidney stone program operations. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Association of Chinese American Physicians.

Through his work with the Leslin Healthcare Leadership Foundation, Dr. Yang brings a practical, interdisciplinary perspective to healthcare leadership, combining clinical medicine, academic administration, integrative health education, and a commitment to preparing future healthcare professionals to serve patients and communities with competence, compassion, and integrity.
