Wai Wong, MD

Dr. Wai Wong is a pediatric pulmonologist in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital and faculty at Harvard Medical School, with a special interest in pediatric lung transplantation, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary-oncology management. Dr. Wong completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She received her medical degree at SUNY Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Her residency was completed in Pediatrics at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Wong then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at Boston Children's Hospital, Boston, MA. After the completion of her training, she was an attending physician in the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Perlman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She has been a recipient of awards including MD with Recognition in Basic Science Research Award Recipient;  Stony Brook University School of Medicine Admissions Scholarship Award;  Michigan Achievement Award;  James B. Angell Scholar. She has been a research award recipient from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and has participated in pediatric clinical trials in organ transplantation and interstitial lung disease. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology. Dr. Wong has authored many journal articles and textbook chapters in pulmonary and sleep medicine, including pediatric lung transplantation, bronchoscopy, hypoventilation, and airway anomalies. She has volunteered in Uganda and Haiti to provide medical missions/medical care. As a clinician, researcher, author, mentor, and teacher, Dr. Wong is interested in developing youth and in supporting students as they reach for their career and life goals.
