Leslie-Ann Howell
Leslie-Ann Howell, Ph.D. is an innovative socio-behavioral servant leader who is passionate about health and education equity. Having specialized experience in research, analysis, grant writing, and education, Leslie-Ann is passionate about supporting marginalized communities and the medically underserved through grant writing and management, program management, and operations. Knowing that it takes everyone to work together to achieve success in any project, she is skilled in building relationships with disparate and siloed groups who have common interests when working to the success of a project. The focus on people has enabled her to successfully establish innovative programs for inpatient experience and employee engagement. Importantly, Leslie-Ann is adept at ensuring the organizational mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategic plans, goals, and services. Leslie-Ann works towards education equity by supporting learners of all ages. As someone who began teaching at the age of 18, teaching and education for all are never far from what she does and who she is. She engages learners from 2-72 and imparts that love to others no matter who it is, where she is, or what she is doing. This is evident in the successes that her students have achieved as many have overcome challenges to achieve their academic and professional success.
Leslie-Ann holds a B.A. in Sociology and Honors from Hunter College and a Ph.D. in Sociology from New York University.
